Neck pain caused by ligamentous instability cannot be addressed long-term until you restore your ability to function with your skull sitting on top of your rib cage.  Our Healthy Neck Prehab Program will condition you to function from neutral spine alignment prior to your medical procedure so that you subject less stress on the cervical spine post-procedure to maximize your healing potential. 

Conditioning yourself to perform your daily tasks post-procedure with your skull on top of your rib cage will position you for long-term injury prevention by breaking the faulty loading patterns that are contributing to your neck pain and cervical spine instability.

What is Prehab?

Definition

Prehab is any rehabilitation or medical coaching prior to a medical procedure or surgery to best position you for a better outcome. Good prehab as it relates to regenerative medicine should consider all aspects of your daily life and help condition you to perform those tasks post-procedure with the least amount of stress through the site of injection.

We are experts in breaking down the complexities of transforming your posture into 3 step-by-step phases of neutral spine conditioning. The goal is simple, restore your ability to function from healthy posture. Your path to complete recovery requires expertise, structure, a system that maximizes safety and yields consistent

Experience

With over 25+ years of experience treating neck conditions in an out-patient physical therapy setting, we are pioneers in neutral spine-based fitness and physical therapy prehab. We have 8+ years teaching neutral spine-based fitness online, 5+ years of experience preparing patients to go into medical procedures with healthier posture.

Safety

We have 9 levels of check-and-balance with every exercise prescribed. You are not advanced to the next level of conditioning until you have demonstrated the ability perform the current level properly without cueing.

Convenience

The HPC prehab program is an online neutral spine conditioning program, all sessions are completed online from the comfort of your home, at your pace and on your schedule. We often perform a session at your place of work to help you best position yourself to apply the principles of neutral spine alignment while at work.

On occasion we will perform a car consultation to help you position your car seat to facilitate your ability to drive in neutral spine alignment.

Simplicity

Our goal is to have you maintain neutral spine alignment (aka healthy posture) during your daily activities. The exercises are built around the daily tasks you will have to complete post-procedure. We just help you do them without forward head posture.

What Will I Accomplish?

Safe Neutral Spine Conditioning

The HPC Prehab Program for Neck Pain will;

  • condition you to get into neutral spine alignment (healthy posture).
  • teach you an individualized daily Start Your Day routine to maximize your chance of starting each day with your cervical spine in neutral position.
  • condition you to sit, stand and walk from neutral spine alignment to reduce the amount of muscle tension you have in the neck, low back and hips.
  • condition you to go up and down stairs with healthy loading through the spine and symmetrical loading through the ankle, knees and hips.
  • condition you to pick object off the floor with a hip hinge strategy to reduce stress on the spine, hips and knees.
  • condition you to lift object overhead with a bicep/shoulder strategy with the neutral plane of the scapulae to reduce stress through the elbow, shoulder and neck.
